Attendance at these weekly classes is strongly recommended and an integral part of a student's development. Students learn crucial listening and social skills by interacting in the group/musicianship class environment. Classes alternate between group (repertoire) classes and musicianship classes. Specific group assignments are determined by each student’s individual development and advancement through the assigned repertoire.
Classes will focus on technique, artistry, performance and leadership skills and will utilize a variety of repertoire and foundational materials including concepts explored by the Suzuki methodology.
Students will also have the opportunity to perform chamber music and orchestral excerpts as the prepare for auditions and orchestra/chamber music performances for their peers.
